Secondary Customer Segments

In addition to the primary customer segment, the study identified a broader group of energy-sector actors involved in grid balancing, flexibility provision and market optimisation. These include balance responsible parties, aggregators, energy traders, BESS operators and flexibility service providers, who operate assets or portfolios that are directly exposed to short-term variability of PV generation. For these actors, accurate and high-resolution PV forecasts are a critical input for imbalance risk management, optimisation of storage and flexible assets, portfolio scheduling and market bidding strategies. The validated PV forecasting capability developed under UC2 provides a strong basis for offering complementary services to these segments in parallel, enabling scalability beyond DSOs without changes to the core platform architecture.
